House insurance FAQs
It's important that the amount you insure your house for is enough to cover all costs to rebuild your house. This includes things like demolition costs, debris removal, professional fees and council fees.
You don't have to tell us if your house is unoccupied for a short period of time – you'll still be covered. But please let us know if your house will be unoccupied for more than 60 consecutive days. An additional excess may apply if your house in unoccupied for an extended period.
Looking to insure your holiday home? Just call us on +676 24 066 and we'll tell you how we can help.
If you're a landlord and you tell us your house is a rental property when you take out your policy, we’ll cover any window coverings, whiteware or household appliances you provide for your tenants, as an optional benefit.
Limits do apply, so make sure you check your policy wording before making a claim.
If you have added optional earthquake cover to your policy and your house is damaged by an earthquake, your Tower House insurance covers you up to your sum insured for the cost to repair or rebuild your house.
If you need your house insurance policy to include cyclone cover, you must provide us with a cyclone certificate for your house.
Cyclone certificates should be issued by an engineer we have approved. If you choose to get a cyclone certificate from an engineer that is not on our approved list, we may not be able to accept it. Check our list of approved engineers.
We are pet lovers too, and know that from time to time they are not always as well behaved as you may like. Unfortunately, our policies don’t cover damage to your house or furnishings caused by your pet.
Important information: Tower house policies are underwritten by National Pacific Insurance (Tonga) Limited trading as Tower Insurance.
